PVYA Cheer Mission Statement

The focus of PVYA CHEER is to build trust and confidence in our teammates while encouraging the personal best from every member of our team.  PVYA Cheerleaders will learn the fundamentals of the sport through teamwork, responsibility, hard work, good sportsmanship, friendship and safety.

We are very excited to announce our second season of PVYA Cheer. Last season was a huge success. We are looking forward to another fantastic season!  Join today and become a part of this unique experience offered by PVYA where girls and boys have a chance to express their individual style.

Cheerleading is more than a sport its an attitude

PVYA CHEER team - 5-8 Years of Age

Purpose:

PVYA Cheer is focused on teaching girls and boys ages 5-8 years old the fundamental cheer techniques, stunting, jumps, coordination, flexibility, tumbling, dance, team building and team spirit.

Goal:

At the end of the spring season, the children will have an understanding of the basic cheer techniques, tumbling, dance and team spirt to be able to further advance in cheerleading.

FAQ's

Q:  I registered my child for PVYA CHEER, now what?
A: You will be contacted by your child’s coach the first week after registration ends.  If you have any questions concerning registration, contact cheerleading@pvya.com.
 
Q: What kind of commitment is involved?
A: One or two nights of practice weekly.  There will be a parent Cheer Performance at the end of the season.  Clinic, practices and performance show will be held at Valley Elementary. 
 
Q: Will team pictures be taken?
A:  Yes, your coach will notify you.
 
Q: How long is the season?
A: Begins week of March 12th and goes to the week of May 28th
 
Q: What are the advantages of starting cheerleading at such a young age?
A:  It helps to teach the kids the fundamentals of teamwork, technique and encourages good sportsmanship and team spirit.
