Welcome to PVYA Basketball!
PVYA offers basketball to Girls and Boys in 1st-12th grades. All practices for elementary students are held at Brunswick Area Schools. Middle school teams practice at Brunswick Middle or the elementary schools with games taking place in Frederick County and Carroll County Maryland.
Intramural League (WINTER)PVYA sponsors a league for kids who are interested in learning the fundamentals of basketball and get experience playing games with their school friends at local gyms. Your player will receive a PVYA uniform shirt, practice twice per week and play 8 total games. The games will feature referees, a scoreboard and certified coaching. This Instructional League will be available for kids Kindergarten through 8th grade. 1st and 2nd graders will practice and play games on weekday evenings, all other age groups will practice on weekday evenings and have games on Saturdays. Specific practice times will not be known until teams are established.
Monocacy Youth Basketball League Teams (WINTER)
PVYA will register at least team in MYBA for each available age classification for both girls and boys. These teams will travel to sites in and near to Frederick County and play games vs. teams from other area youth associations (Middletown, Frederick, Walkersville, Catoctin, etc.) These teams will play half of their games locally at the BMS gym and half of their games at the home gyms of their opponents. These teams will play 8 regular season games, plus a post-season tournament. Specific practice times will not be known until teams are established.

All evaluations will be held at Brunswick middle school
11/14
- 3rd,4th, 5th and 6th grade girls (in-house and MYBA) evaluations occur 600 pm
- 7th and 8th grade girls (in-houase and MYBA evaluations occur 730 pm
11/15
- 3rd and 4th grade boys (in-house and MYBA) evaluations occur 600 pm
- 5th and 6th grade boys (in-house and MYBA) evaluations occur 730 pm
11/16
- 7th and 8th grade boys (in-house and MYBA) evaluations occur 600 pm
- 1st and 2nd grade (COACHES ONLY, NO KIDS) occur 700 pm
High School Registration
On Date TBD all 9th through 12 grade boys should plan to come to Brunswick High School Cafeteria at 1:00 pm to pick teams.
SPRING Basketball
Starting in early April, teams will play games locally at Brunswick Middle School, Brunswick City Park or Point of Rocks Local Park.
Teams will play 8 regular season games, plus a post-season tournament.
Travel FALL Basketball
Starting in early September, teams will play games locally at Brunswick Middle School, Brunswick City Park or Point of Rocks Local Park.

The basketball program, like all programs within PVYA, is volunteer-based and the coaching staff is typically parents of players. We are always looking for volunteers to run each level of play and to coach. If interested please email the coordinator.
