PVYA U6 Academy Soccer will hold an Orientation/Q&A Event from 6pm-7 at the Cambridge Farms Park Pavilion on Monday, March 18th. The program will begin March 25/26 weather permitting.

Welcome to PVYA Soccer

PVYA Soccer has grown into one of Mid-Maryland's largest soccer programs. Several PVYA teams are competing in tournament events throughout the MD, VA and PA area. In addition, though all our teams are not classified as "Travel Teams," PVYA has made it a standard that all Coaches in the organization receive certification from either the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) or USSF (United States Soccer Federation) through the Maryland State Soccer Affiliate. By increasing our Coaches knowledge of the game, the USSF recommendations of practices, and age bracket focus topics, we are providing better technical training during the "Golden Years of Soccer" which span from U6-U12 teams.

Creating The Individual Player

Focusing on the individual player is the priority of the PVYA coaching staff.
Growing a creative player is the focus within our player development strategies.

To this we need to focus our efforts on the ball skills a player needs to be a successful soccer player. You will notice a great deal of foot skills being taught at the younger age groups to include the basics of passing, trapping, dribbling, and moves (Faints and Fakes). These all lead to being able to teach Techniques and Tactics of team play. More and more, we as coaches, are told to have practices with all the players involved in the sessions and to get as many touches on the ball as you can. With this in mind, the players become more comfortable when the ball is played to them and the fear of "what do I do now" grows to "look at the options I have".

PVYA Futsal

Futsal Registration is now open on our website at www.pvya.com. Registration will remain available through November 20th, register today!

Futsal sessions will begin Jan 5th and run through March 10th, 2019. PVYA will offer two available options for our futsal program. We will hold both an intramural league for our younger players (ages 4-7) and a more competitive league (ages 8-high school) that will play teams from nearby youth organizations. Competitive games will be held at the Trinity School in Frederick on Saturday or Sunday afternoons from 2-6 pm. Players in the competitive league must register individually but will be contacted about team placement.  Our intramural league for our younger players will be held Sunday evenings at Brunswick High School.

What is Futsal?
Futsal is a small-sided soccer game (5v5 - 4 field players and a goalkeeper) played on a smaller field (roughly the size of a basketball court) with a smaller, low-bounce ball.  Futsal is played with touchline boundaries.  Unlike Indoor Soccer, there are no walls in play.   In Futsal, players are constantly reminded to play the same quality control game that is required for success in the outdoor game.  Futsal develops skill, control and technique.  A small field with lines puts players constantly under pressure from other players and out-of-play boundaries.  Players must learn to settle the ball rapidly, cut sharply, shield effectively, pass quickly and move into space.

Intramural/In-House League
PVYA will host a league for kids who are interested in learning the fundamentals of futsal and gain experience playing games with their school friends.

Competitive Futsal League
PVYA will field at least one competitive team in each available age classification (U10/U11, U12/U13, U14/U15) for both girls and boys. These teams will play against. teams from other area  youth associations (Middletown ,Carroll Manor, and BCRC).
All games will be played at the Trinity School in Frederick . These teams will play 8 regular season games.

Location/Date/Time: PVYA Futsal plays at The Trinity School Gym next to the Frederick Keys Stadium.  The session will begin Saturday, January 6th and end Sunday, March 4th, 2018. Games will be played between 3pm-6pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

How much? The investment for recreational/intramural is $35 for 8 Weeks. Our competitive league fee will be $55 for 8 weeks.
